I have a White 2270 with a 354 turbo charged Perkins. A very rare tractor, I believe only one was built! Just kidding. It was not that difficult. Once the engine plate was designed the rest was relatively straight forward. What a nice tractor to drive and run as the long wheel base results in a smooth ride and they handle so nice which is true of all 2270's, G1355's. We use it for seeding ,pulling a rake etc. An electric fan would have made things simpler, but I designed a fan with a longer shaft from the pulley on the Perkins. As many of you may know a Perkins is cheap to overhaul as so many were used in Massey combines, parts certainly are not a problem. My engine was out of a 760 Massey combine.
By the way guys, thanks for the comments re: "what killed Oliver"
