I bought a G1355 that had a blown engine, the farmer had just had the engine overhauled and was making his first trip to the field. Apparently an oil line came off and soon after the engine locked up ,I assume with a loud bang. It is always interesting to do an "autopsy" on something like this. The number five rod bearing had piled up and when it left the crank it broke the camshaft which resulted in also cracking the block surrounding the cam journal .I was able to salvage the Pistons etc and having a good supply of used parts including a block, I was able to do a rebuild.
Another White 2270 I bought had a knock ,presumably do to a rod bearing. However when the engine was dismantled, it was apparent that this engine had been fed too much ether as number 4 piston was badly damaged and a piece of piston had been causing the knock as it ended up on top causing a knock against the head. There again ,a few spare parts and the engine was rebuilt.
