I have a few questions about parts I need for my father's tractor. He bought it new the year I was born and it has lived with us ever since. It's in running order but I need the small glass sediment bowl and gasket that screws into the adaptor on the gas line. Any ideas where I could find such a glass bottle like that? The exhaust manifold needs to be replaced as it has been patched where it has burned through but still leaks a lot of exhaust. You can just see the patches extending down at the back of the manifold. I also need the part that fits on the top of the exhaust manifold the heat riser valve is pretty rusted out. I bought one but it turned out it was for a newer model so wouldn't fit my U exhaust manifold.

As you can see it has been converted to a 12 volt system for easier winter starting but I still have the 6 volt generator.

It's a very handy tractor for around the yard to step on and off of but wish it had come with hydraulics.

Any and all suggestions are appreciated.

I have those bowls and gaskets on the shelf. I don't know where you are located. But any Agco dealer can get it for you. As far as your heat riser. There is nothing newer than your tractor. They was all the same up to the 5Star, and the manifolds were completely changed. no heat riser valve. Maybe your manifold is warped or has shrunk, as to the reason it won't fit. Replacement manifolds like yours are available, but cost more than a new M-5 manifold which many U's have on them. Gives more power and does not burn the hood near as much. MMDEL

I could probably come up with a complete hydraulic set up for your tractor, or MMDEL. They are pretty common and a lot of people like to remove them. If you bought a replacement heat riser, they don't fit the old manifold very well, the new riser will fit the new reproduction manifold just fine.

Thank you for the replies.

Up here in Manitoba Canada the winter has set in hard with snow and mighty cold temps. So won't be doing much repair work for a few months.

I'm guessing the heat riser I have is for the new manifold as it won't come close to fitting where the old one did. Guess I will need a new manifold and should I order one for an M5 or a new one for the U?

Will check with my Agco dealer about a glass sediment bowl.

What all is involved in installing the hydraulic system on the U? What would it cost roughly? I can share my email if you prefer to email me privately.

I used to order quite a few things from the US as nothing along these lines are available for these tractors in Canada. But with the exchange on the money so large it has to be very essential to order a part plus shipping.

Again thank you for the suggestions they are greatly appreciated.

I am in SW Mb and probably can get most parts. May have your hydraulic setup. Was fairly
common on 50 U's and up. If old manifold has a KE number on it will be original.

Oh sounds good glad to hear you are not too far from me. I'm near Bdn.

The pic I posted is of the manifold on the U. I believe it is KE821 8 I think. Just going by the pic kind of hard to tell if it an 8 or B at the end.

You didn't happen to be the person who has or had the U302 LPG with MM loader advertised for sale a while back are you? I was looking at it, still listed in the SW of MB on a site just yesterday. Looked like a nice handy tractor to have around. We used to run LPG tractors years ago. Only issue now, I no longer have the bulk tank.

Thank you.

Hi Molinegb.

I'm not sure how to email you privately from this site. I went to your profile and tried to send a private message in both views but it would not work. Said I had to use safe mail or leave a post and I couldn't find how safe mail worked on this site.

I might be interested in the parts you have available since it seems we are not too distant from each other.

Maybe you can advise how to send a private email as you say your address is open. Do I have to be some sort of a special member to use the email service?

Thank you
