U clutch removal

Hello
Working on a MM U. I would like to inspect the clutch and the transmission imput shaft seal. The tractor is split, I removed the nut and lock tab from the clutch, installed large t puller but can't get the clutch to remove. I did not apply "extreme" force because I was afraid to break something. I also tapped on the key and vibrated clutch with air hammer. Is there something that I am missing or are they really that tight??

Thanks!

Never mind... Was able to get it out this morning. .. I was just wore out last night. Sometimes the best remedy is good night's sleep and fresh eyes in the morning.

This is a two person job. Go find yourself a big burly friend and arm them with a six or eight foot long prybar. Have them put the bar behind the clutch assembly coming in thru the rectangle adjusting hole on the left side of the tractor. Leave the nut on the end loose but threaded on enough that the nut has most of its threads engaged. Then have your friend lay into the bar with pretty good force. Next take a suitable two to four pound hammer and smack the end of the shaft. One good lick should dislodge the whole assembly. You can do this same process with the nut off the shaft but the likelyhood of the whole thing flying out the front of the housing and landing on your foot is very high. I can promise that last part to be correct. Happy Wrenching... Jeff

I don't know why, But taking a day off on a problem always end in good result's. I have often went back
to a stubborn problem the next day with a new perspective. Happy wrenching.
