445 arrived on Saturday just before the snow. Sn 15200173 which makes it near tail end of MM's
445 diesel production in US . Decals are still a question. Have all parts I should require.
Motor appears to be a rebuild as color different.

I am kind of curious about that engine. It almost looks brown. Makes me wonder if the original didn't chuck a rod through the side of the block and someone got a replacement out of a Jetstar? I picked up a Jetstar diesel a while back. Engine is yellow, so I suppose the original blew up and a 445 one took its place. I also noticed on mine the serial number tag is the 445 style. Jetstar tags are different. My tractor number is 1750075 and engine number is 10700189. Mine needs some assembly.. however the engine looks like it was put together and never started, the rocker arms are full of assembly lube. The tractor was mid restoration when the owner passed away.

Motor is not brown but more of the casting color of MM's. Blocks and heads are greyish color.Motor has either been dunked or replaced with maybe factory replacement. All the externals are yellow. There is no difference between any of the 206 motors internally. Up to 1960 motor used the Bosch pump so it required different side cover for pump mount. When Roosa Master system was used the distributor shaft had to be changed to accomodate the pump. All early motors were had shaft as the gas motors. I have been through all these changes in my Motrac and Jetstar 2 diesels.

Motor with 107 prefix is 445. Mine should be tagged as 10700168 for 445. Your crankcase is a 445 as MM
had defining serial numbers according to model.

Found another diesel crankcase 1070080 which also is another 445. Glad I hauled it a couple of weeks ago. Was sweating as it was 8C or 50 F. Now 2 weeks later we have a foot of snow and will hit -40 C/F with wind chill. May be working on 445 inside!

Managed to get 445 running today at -5F. Changed plunger and used head off another . Timed at 27 degrees and snort of ether and started up. Ran little rough until I bled off injectors. 20 years since it ran. Know idea how it ever ran before as timing was way out.

According to the serial number prefix reference I have, 107 is for both 445 and Jetstar diesel engines. They share the same prefix. Logically, the lower numbered engines would be 445, and higher would be Jetstar because the 445 was produced first. The real give away on my engine (aside from yellow paint) is the serial tag is the 445 style, with the large MM logo. Where Jetstar tags are like M5 and such, black and say Minneapolis Moline on them with no real logo. The 445 tags are also embossed, where Jetstar is painted. I would imagine the Jetstar 107 prefix engine would use the new style tag, since my gas #3 has the new style tag.

With 233 445 diesels made and if they start with 107 would make a Jetstar above 234. Motrac
used a 180 prefix. My Jetstar 2 is 107000665. There was also 4 Star in sequence. 10A6000
crankcase was not predrilled for governor. Later crankcases were drilled out so they could
be either gas or diesel. Hole was plugged off on diesel models.

Diesel motor parts are very hard to find.

Been doing alot of searching for pictures of 445 diesels. So far haven't found any survivors. Heard of one in restoration but no completed ones. Where did they all go? Am thinking motors were poorly serviced and scrapped.
