twin city identification

I posted this once before but I'm trying to
figure out what model a twin city is at the
local junk yard. The serial number is 301486
was unable to get a Good pic. All the part
numbers I could find started with KT. It
definitely was branded twin city and it oddly
enough is Moline yellow. The engines been
gray before but the rest of it doesn't appear
to have been but its hard to tell.

Now the million dollar question. Its on rubber wheels are shot head manifold etc are missing otherwise complete. Whats it worth in central il?

What's the going rate for scrap around there? That's about what it sounds like to me. Look at it as what it is worth in iron and parts. If it's on cut offs and the sheetmetal is all bad, there is not much left for parts. It would cost for more to fix than its worth. I've seen runners bring $1000-1500. $2000 is pretty much closing in on top dollar. I've bought two good, fairly complete parts KTA's this year for $500 each. This is MN.

I too live in central Illinois and with out looking it over real good i would say around 250.00 to 300.00 would be top end on it. 60.00 bucks a ton scrap would be 140.00 scrap price. So if you want it make them an offer of 200.00 for it.

I would expect to pay around $500+. And of course I would only if I needed parts for one I was repairing.
The radiator if it is in good condition would be worth $500 alone. I mean excellent condition.
Can you get pictures?

I do have some KTA parts if anyone needs any. My radiator is all there, but the side supports are both cracked.

Wouldn't even try to sell a rad that old. Odds are it will be no good. Have 5 or 6 KTA's
and all are separated in top of core. They are basically rotten. Save the hassle and get a
new core. Spent literally days trying to repair KTA or TC rads. I took several rads to a
well know radiator shop. They told me they were not worth repairing. Me being up to a
challenge tried. Wasted alot of good solder with actual lead in it!
Have several red nose U rads but also scared to sell due to age.

I have a 1929 Rock Island with an original radiator still going strong. Probably a different radiator company than what Twin City used.

Interesting that you have a Rock Island. I was raised on Rock Islands and Hubers. We had 4 in the family at one time I have 2 left. My Grandfathers "F" on full steel. And my father's first tractor a G2. The other two were FAs they both got traded off for a MM U. Dad bought his first MM in 1948, a Z.

I like odd tractors beyond my MM's. Have a 12-20 and 17-28 Twin City as well a a restored
Long Model A. Have reached the point I want only odd MM's My son did a count and said I
was over the 100.

Rock Island F and FA are the same tractor except FA has a different pinion/crown ratio.

I'm only over 80 tractors so I have some catching up to do. 2 Rock Island, 4 Huber.1 MH. 1 IHC, 1 JD. The rest are Twin City, Avery, and MM.
