power steering plug

I have put a Tele-flow that was on a tractor with powersteering onto a tractor without,I need a plug ,but don't know what thread or what I need to do.

Assuming you are using a pump from one that had power steering, you will need to remove the priority valve (called flow control piston in parts book) & spring from the pump before you plug the hole where the power steering line used to connect. You can plug the hole with an inverted flare fitting & tube that has been smashed or folded then welded or brazed shut or you can buy a plug for it if you can find one.

Well I'm not an expert on hydraulic pumps but worse case scenario I would see is it over pressurizing and splitting the pump apart or blowing out the seal. I believe the steering output priority valve limits the amount of oil that can go to the power steering, so maybe the pump will just run hot and fail prematurely. Irregardless, I wouldn't neglect JK2's advice and find out the hard way..

I've never tried it but since the priority valve supposedly allocates the first so many gallons to the steering system which would then have no where to go, I assume the pressure would be very high & either cause the pump to get very hot or more likely break something in the pump like shear the key, split the coupler, break the shaft or split the center casting. I have seen the center castings split before but don't know how that happened for sure.
You don't have to remove the pump to take out the valve & spring. It is under the plug at the top of the pump nearest the tractor on the right from behind.

ok ,now that sounds easy.please give me specific directions as to exactly where an what I need(or will see) to take out,
as I've had a stroke I can be quite dense.

Click on link to AGCO Parts books.
Click on "View Books"
put 445 in box to search for & search
find "Hydraulic Pump" & click on it
Click on + magnify glass
Part Number 1 & 2 are what you need to remove
AGCO Parts books

Missed a step, sorry
After searching for 445 you need to find "White 445 TRACTOR r1157c00" at bottom of page and click on it before you look for "Hydraulic pump"

Not sure what you mean but I see I didn't provide the correct part ID's. Should be Parts 2 & 3 instead of 1 & 2.

sounds like you need a plugin or something installed on your computer to access that site. Not sure what since I haven't seen that message on my systems which are still running windows XP. I tried both Internet Explorer and Firefox & they both work OK.

Here is a scanned pic of it. Part numbers to remove are 9 & 10 in this pic.

your workin right from pump, but my pump goes to my teleflow ,since my power steering would come from there wouldnt I need to do something there ?

on a 445 the power steering feeds directly from the rear fitting on the right side of the pump. The return from the steering is what goes in the front of the valve body. That hole in the valve body needs the same plug in it that the pump needs after you remove the parts.

335, 445, 4*, JetStar, JetStar2, JetStar3, 5*, M5, M602 & early M670 all feed the power steering directly from the hydraulic pump and the return goes in the front of the valve body housing on either the early 3 point system or Tel-O-Flo. I have never seen one that feeds the pressure to the power steering from the Tel-O-Flo. The pumps, even the external plumbing ones, allocate the first 2-1/2 gallons of flow to the power steering port by using the priority valve that you need to remove.

when I 1st hoooked it up and started it ,it blew hydraulic oil out what you're calling the return ,so I thought it was the feed and cobbed a plug onit, figures thats why it aint leaking, there aint no pressure

since this is the same pump mo's had on it for years then ,My hydraulics must be ok cuz the pump takes oil from teloflow back to teloflow .the pump hasnt changed

I think we need more information. What everybody is telling you is correct. Lets go back to the beginning. You said you installed a 445 3Pt. All 445 3PTs were internal pluming. You put it on a Mo 400. 400s were set up for external pluming. Did you take the delete plugs out of the 400 differential case? Did you mount a 445 pump on the rear? The 445 pump has a port on the front of the pump going into the diff case. that is the only way the 3Pt gets it's pressure. There is one line coming out of the pump that goes directly to the power steering. That is the only way the power steering gets it's pressure. The line coming back from Power Steering is the return and it dumps the fluid back into the 3Pt reservoir. Give us more details on the diagram of how you installed this project. A few pictures might help.

is there a filter in the thing standing up on the left (mine is supposed to be standingup ,but I gotta finish bolting it down)

What you have there is A WHOLE DIFFERENT BALL GAME from what these guys are trying to help you how to fix. If there is a filter on the left side that stands vertical, and is held on the tractor with it's own special bracket. You do NOT HAVE A 445 3Pt. It would be and external pluming system. The pump in your picture is a basic gear pump. So forget all the power steering info these fellows are trying to help you with. The only thing you need to plug is where the PS return line comes back to the 3Pt. That is located on the front of the valve block just below the U shaped steel line that goes to the 3Pt piston housing. Suction line for the pump hooks to the upright filter. And the pressure line from the pump goes in the front of 3Pt in the bottom of the valve block. It is a JIC fitting.

thank you, what sort of animal did this hydraulic system come off from then,so I can call it something when I need
parts (like filter) ?

Filters are all the same for all the tel-O-Flows with external pluming. I have them in stock. Or any other MM Agco source.
Your 3Pt had to come off a late Jet, 4Star, ect. After 1960 or so. Or even a Jet Star 3. That 3Pt was an option for your Big Mo 400.

it had a cobbed up 3 pt(torch cut too) that looked like hell and the 4speed was to fast or plowing snow ,so now its
got a A/T too between that and the teloflow its like a whole different tractor (its Military so its got the 221 CU
which I think is just the 206CU just bored out
