u 302 blow by

Having blow by from oil fill cap and breather cap on valve cover on my 1964 u 302 gas. it starts right up but has almost a hydolock sound when first starting , then runs fine but oil blow by from breather cap on valve cover,and some when removing oil cap as engine runs . No air or coolant loss so far . any thoughts????

Sounds like you'll be tearing it down some time so this is kind of a quiz. I'm guessing one or more broken piston rings. My second guess would be valve guide(s). Can you narrow it down to a particular hole by inspecting the condition of the spark plugs?
