G1000 Vista transmission

I just bought a G1000 Vista that makes a pretty good clunking noise when backing up. It is quiet going forward. It must have a bad reverse idler gear. My vista parts book lists some 20- numbers for an updated idler gear and has a note written that says see service bulletin #100-350-04. I'm guessing the original reverse idler gear is known for failure? I haven't been in any big MM transmissions, but I know on the smaller ones the reverse idler can be removed without disassembling everything. Would anyone have a copy of the service bulletin? Or any insight on doing the repair? If it's a double split job, it's probably going to go on the back burner, but if I can swap the gear though the shift cover, I may have to do it so I can play around.

Here is the bulletin. It is a little hard to read because it is printed on yellow paper. It doesn't help you on how to take it apart. The Service Manual might, but I don't have time now to look it up.

Del,
Thanks for the scan of the service bulletin! Even though it doesn't outline repair procedure it is interesting nonetheless. So are the splitting stand scans.
No matter what, this tractor won't make it in the shop this winter. I have to put a rear end in a Jet Star 3 Super, split a G950 and G900, and maybe rebuild a M670 Super diesel. It's always nice to start a shelf full of parts ahead of time. Maybe next winter...

Here should be a picture of it. It's a little rough around the edges, but it should turn out to be a descent tractor. The cab needs to go. Anyone who wants it please come take it.

Alan, yes it is a unique cab. I believe they were made in Mankato. The sticker is in the cab yet. Unique was definitely the right name. My favorite part about it is it fits around all the open station parts. So yank it off and the tractor looks like it never had a cab. No parts needed.

Do you have any more pictures of it you can email me? I have an M670 Super and an M5.
Might want to put a cab on one. Just wondering how much would be needed in the back
since the Vista has the fuel tank there.
