GTB Propane

Did Moline make the GTB in propane...what I read was GTC was the propane version but I have this one and was told it was a GTB it has 403 engine on the tag.

GTB has straight front axle. GB has hump in axle. What is actual serial number? Motor and
chassis?

Yes the GTC was a propane ONLY tractor
built with a 340 ci engine: not 403.
The G (GTB ) and GB were both
available with 403 engine in either
gas or propane. Old MM dealer told me
the GTC with very high compression was
rated the same horsepower as 403 but
was thought to not use as much fuel
with the smaller engine. (4.25X6 ).

Serial number 0164800087 if I read correctly would make it a 1948 model

So all GTB gas and LP were all serial numbered in same as alot of MM's were? GTC was created later in 1951.This would be close to when they went to 12v system. In a few minutes I will be loading my GTBD destined for WI.
