New purchases

I went to the Russel Johnson auction in Hector, MN today. Dragged home a Big Mo 400 and a KTA. The Big Mo is kind of interesting. I can't say I've seen any with 4 post ROPS before. It has a manufacturer tag that the model is MM400. So it was actually made for them. I'm guessing it was a mowing tractor of sorts. Although it has no belly PTO or rear PTO. Possibly the rops were added at some point though since the paint doesn't really match. Just thought it was interesting so I felt the need to haul it home, and I wanted the front weight bracket. It is very rough and will likely be a parts tractor. Anyone ever seen ROPS like it?

Very nice buy--both of them.

Any idea who bought the UDLX parts tractor?

Also, do you know if the 2 Star Crawler ran?

I know the "UDLX" sold online for about $20,000. Which was too much for what it really was. The serial number was gone on it and it looked like it was removed recently. Talking with some people who have UDLX's they believe that was a UTS chassis with some UDLX sheet metal. The crawler I believe sold somewhere around 4-6,000. It did not run. The blade was chained up. It was very wore out.

Just wondering since I was your competition on the KTA. What shape
was the KTA in? I live in Michigan and didn't want to come out with
my trailer to haul home something that needed a-lot of work.

I could only be there until 12:30 so I missed the later buys. I bought the MM UTC, Oliver OC 4, MM 114 Hydro and my son bought the MM 75. I thought the prices were fair to buyer and seller. The UTC is not perfect but will be good enough for shows and just to have a little fun. It runs and drives nice. I had one some years ago and always wanted to get one again. Knowing me I will probably sell it when I get tired of it.

Galen, I think you got the UTC very reasonable.
Roger, I don't know what you consider not needing a lot of work, but I think the KTA is rather rough. It will more than likely be a parts tractor. Engine is stuck. Sheetmetal is rough. Rear rims are fabricated I think. Radiator upright castings are broke. Some steering parts are welded. Rear tires are holding air but pictures I don't think show how cracked they are. The closer I look at it, the uglier it gets. The Big Mo is really ugly.

I was doing some online bidding. And I always never get a good deal when I purchase sight unseen.
I hope you can salvage the old tractor and you probably have more access to parts than I.
Keep the old tractor running Chris. And I'm still looking.
