To start off, mm are very uncommon in
my area. There is an FYI for sale
locally that ran recently, but
currently doesn't so they claim. It
does have a mower, which honestly i
could care less about. Not knowing
anything about this brand, what
good/bad/ugly should I know? How are
parts, are they notorious for problems
(cracks, etc)?

Any idea on value? I know it's tough,
sheetmetal looks good from the pic,
tires hold air, about 20% miss match
pattern and truck tires up front.

Thanks.

An RTI with a mower was often a highway dept. machine used for mowing roadsides. If it is a belly mount mower it can be desirable. Being a Moline enthusiast my opinion may be prejudice but I think they are well built, tough tractors. Parts are not as easy to find as the big brands but people here can tell you where to find them if you ask. There are two publications for the brand and if you get the tractor it is worth subscribing. The MM Corresponder and The Prairie Gold Rush

There is a Moline web site if you look something like unofficial Moline. The r series was very good tough and bullet proof. Parts are not a big issue. They are very simple to work on. Engine and power wise they are like an early Deere B or Farmall H. One mower was a mid or belly mount called smh used on the row crops. Implements for MM are a little scarce and so are parts.

I acquired a 1948 ZTN and 1941 RTN during the past year. Both had sat idle for many years and were not running. Both now run very well and took a minimum of repairs to get them running.
These were my first MM's, having 12 vintage tractors in the shed.... mostly Olivers, Farmalls and a few Deeres. Got to say that I am hooked. The Minneapolis Moline tractors have real character..... kind of like comparing a Harley Davidson to a Honda. They are not difficult to work on, appear very robust in design, and sound great. My ZTN has the best engine sound of any tractors in the collection.
So grab the RTI and have fun. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
