What is the story on MM G1000 tractors? I saw this one the other day riding down the road and it looks huge!! I am a Farmall guy and own around 80 small Farmall tractors (Cub, Super A, 140, etc), and we own a Ford 4000 tractor and a bigger Allis Chalmers 210 Turbo Diesel.

Saw this G1000 and it looks like a beast. Got the guys phone number and he said he hasn't started it in about 10-12 years but was a good running tractor. I would like to own it just for the sake that I have never seen one around here (Alabama) and it is a cool looking machine. He said he would consider selling it too.

(quoted from post at 22:52:00 08/11/16) yea they are neat get a picture to see if its a vista

I will try. I'm in the company truck so can't stop. It's not that close to the road. How can you tell besides the badging. ? Also, what does a Vista have the others don't have?

VISTA has a raised platform, shorter hood, fuel tank behind seat like the 210 has and shifter, throttle and hydraulic controls of to the right on a console.

In general, if it is a row crop model with the dyna brown paint on the chassis it would
be a regular G1000. If it is all yellow and a fuel tank in back of the seat it would be
a Vista.

Here are some pictures. I know, they are not good. Hope they help. He did say it ran well when he parked it, but they don't have a use for it anymore since most of be farms have grown up. It has been sitting outside the whole time, has rear dual wheels, and is connected to a very large hydraulic disk harrow. He wants $6000.00 for the tractor with disk.

Looks like an earlier brown belly model. $6000 is a little much in my opinion, especially if its been sitting that long without ever being ran. Probably gonna need some work to get it running again. Is it diesel?

Looks like a regular G1000 from the rear. One other thought, if it would happen to be
what they call a low band like this one. There are very few of those around so Im
betting it is a regular G1000. If it hasnt been run in several years, I would crack the
drain plugs in the rear end and engine and drain off any accumulated water. Just be
careful when doing it as the fluid can come out in a hurry and it is harder to put the
plug back in. I usually loosen it then unscrew it by hand holding it in and when at the
end of the threads cock it to the side just a little. What brand is the disc? That
seems like a large price for something that has been sitting for that long and outside
as well.

Where I am it would be worth $1000-1500 especially if a brown belly. Early models had rear
end issues especially when dualed up.A non runner even Vista is not worth 3K. Alot of money
could be required to make it run

In my area that tractor would do good to bring much over $1,000.....For the last 30 years there been a G-1000
MM LP tractor sitting unused 10 miles east of me..

what problems did the early G1000 rear ends have? I wasn't aware of any on those models

I zoomed way in on it and it does have the high white band along the side and it isn't a Vista, you can see it has a big high back black seat down low like a G900 and a SMV sign hanging behind the seat. No fuel tank behind seat.

The first G1000's had bearing issues that knocked out ring and pinion. Apparently a bad
batch of bearings was unknowingly installed. Most were repaired before more damage was
done.

Good to know,I've been looking for a diesel brown belly for a little while now just because I like the 2 tone paint over solid yellow. I would imagine if they had bearing problems they would have been taken care of by now, well hopefully.
