G-900 Power Steering

How big a deal is it to pull off the power steering cylinder of a G-900? The bolt on the front looks like it needs to go up....

Did mine a number of years ago. I wish I could remember how I did it so I could tell you. What I do remember is it is a big deal. I'm about sure that at the time, I had the radiator off and maybe even the frame rails. Sorry can't be of more help but you nailed it, "a big deal".

Thanks Curt. It looked like it could be. She leaks too much, but then I don't want to turn a simple repair into a rebuild!

A friend of mine just did his and said the bolt will go up and you can change it without tearing the radiator or frame rails off.

The steering cylinder from my G900 is laying on my desk here as I just re-built it. It is actually a pin that goes through the steering deal in the front. You have to turn turn the wheels all the way to the left and then jack the front end up to get some more degrees of turn radius and there is a big hole in the steering casting that you push the pin up through. It took me all of about 10 minutes to remove the cylinder. I disconnected the lines and gave that front pin a bop with my air hammer and the job was completed. Let me tell you the second snap ring in the cylinder gland is a party to remove.

Side note, I didn't even remove the hood for this procedure but I have yet to install it and see how easily or hard that pin goes in the front.
