G-900 Brakes

For you old timers this is nothing new, but this was my first time that my Minneapolis brakes were so poor that I thought they needed attention.....

The I&T manual was pretty good. The assembly had rusted in the housing, so it was stuck. Pulled it out, cleaned it up and now it works as well as any MM brakes....

I intended to replace the discs from a stack I had on the shelf, but the new ones were too large... What tractors did they put large brake discs on? I have four new NOS, now I just need to find a tractor they will fit.. Thanks.

Since you have some brake parts laying around. Would you happen to have the "slave cylinder" for a G1000 that bolts on the brake housing itself. P/N 10A24398
I just got the AGCO price, WOW
I'm going to pull mine off and see if it's rebuildable.

Sorry. I try to pick up parts that I think I recognize when I go to sales.... Sometime I get lucky and sometimes I end up with ones that are 'almost' right.....

I recently found a radiator gasket that is 'almost' the right one for my M-5. Of course, I was well into the project when I figured it out and had Welter's send me the correct one.

If you don't find one give me the casting number off of the cyl and I can get you a new one, and save you some money.

Thank you! I'll check out one of my '1000s and see. MM didn't seem to think that stopping was that critical....LOL

I hear you there. I think part of the problem with MMs brakes is the "mechanics" of it. Part of the leverage when stepping on the brake is lost because it doesnt pull so much downward but forward as well.
