G1000 Vista clutch pilot bearing

I am re-assembling the D504 for my G1000 vista and the Agco clutch pilot bearing that I received is an open ball bearing. Should I try to find one somewhere else that is sealed or will this one work okay?

Gosh, that seems odd to me, I'd think there'd be a "shielded" bearing in there.

What did you take out?

What's the numbers etched on the old and new bearing?
 
I don't have the old bearing, thats the tough part. This project has been going on for a year and a half, and I think the machine shop may have disposed of the old bearing when they surfaced the flywheel. This one looks like the correct size but I can't believe it is just an open bearing.
 
Have you tried A & I Products? The ones I have for my M5s I believe are sealed. They were about $25-30 each.
 
There is also an oil seal that goes in the flywheel. There is oil coming from the rear lube pump for the torque that also lubes that bearing,thus no need to be sealed. That is the correct bearing from what I see.
 
Parts book says ball bearing 10A17240 Oil seal 10A19803. So that may be the right bearing but you need an oil seal.
 
The manual says to install the seal lip edge towards the crankshaft. There is also a thin metal ring that goes in the flywheel outside the bearing(compensation ring).
 
I ordered an oil seal and the compensation ring with the bearing but the seal that came was too small OD. This tractor is pretty late serial number and I looked at a G1050 and saw that they listed a different oil seal number so I ordered one of those this afternoon, hopefully it is the seal that I need and I can keep moving along with this project. Learn something new every day I suppose.
 
It most likely is the correct one. Late model MM tractors have oil pushed up the PTO shaft to lube the splines and the pilot bearing.
