mm445 update

i finally got the manual for this tractor. and as usual the IT manuals dont say which fluids to use in these tractors. I believe i got the lift problem figured out. The PTO not disengaging is a nother thing. Removed the seat hyd unit and diff cover. First thing i found was the oil looked like cream, water contamination.
moved the PTO lever back and forth and PTO stayed engaged. Clutches were stuck together. Seperated them with my finger nail, no lie, and washed them with kerosene while i turned the PTO shaft. worked the PTO lever back and forth about 15 times and when released the PTO shaft turned freely. Engages good and releases good. Planning to clean diff case as well as i can and put it back together unless someone tells me im crazy. Can anyone tell where to get the diff cover gasket and rubber seal for hyd tube. Planning to use 90wt oil in trans and diff. THF in the hyd system. Unless I hear otherwise. Thanks

I always used 90wt. in the transmission and Dextron 2, now Dextron 3, in the hydraulics. I am thinking the original hydraulic fluid was type S.

I read once that gl-5 transmission fluid was hard on brass bushings, and there are some in the differential pinions, so you may want to just run gl-1 in your 445.

Some people use universal transhydraulic fluid (Hyguard, Hytrans, etc.) in the hydraulics so they can swap implements with other make tractors and they get by o.k.
