Most of you will remember me posting about my GVI MM diesel that hadn't run in 25 years..It was a battle
to get it running but in the end it ran great...I took it to the Adrian,MO tractor show on June 24-26th as they
were featuring MM's..

For years all thats pulled the 7500-8500 class at Adrian was 70,720,and 730 JD's..Its a 1st gear weight
percentage pull....This year there were (3) 70 JD's,a 730 JD,and my GVI MM..

1-The GVI MM ran out of power shortly after this picture was taken..It weighed 7800 lbs (scales were light}
and pulled 230% of its weight which was good for 2nd place....The winner was a 70 JD diesel that pulled
238%...The GVI is geared just a little too fast in 1st gear...I had a 4020 JD drawbar on it and almost picked
the front....It was sure hooked to the track..

2-I pulled my 1940 UTU in the 4500-5500 class (weighed 5205) and after 8 tractors had pulled I was in the
lead at over 300%....It jumped out of 1st gear just over half way down the track....I had the option of going
back to the starting line or taking off where I stopped...I took off where I stopped with the front 2 ft in the air
and ran out of power 75 ft on down the track...The last 2 tractors in the class got by me but not by much...
An M Farmall was 2nd and a U MM 1st.

3-My 1948 U puller taking it to the end of the track on an exhibition hook in the 4500-5500 class..I only ran
2nd gear because you have to stop before the weight box tops out..

4-The U MM that won the 4500-5500 class....Its belongs to the Bents family from Deepwater,MO..It weighs
4900..

5-On Sunday afternoon I was going to pull my 1929 21-32 Twin City in the 5500-6500 antique class but a
storm hit shortly after the pull started dumping 2.33" of much needed rain..

How is the turning out in your area? Around here it has been record yields. Ours made 131.85 bushels per acre-two years ago the same field made 5 bushels estimated-we pastured it off. A field just north of us averaged 130.2 this year. I remember when 30 was good.

I guess you were asking about the wheat....Most ran 50-70 bu per acre but heard of a few fields at 80-110 bu..When I was a kid 25-30 was about it..

Thats me in the top 3 pictures.....I also pulled a E-5 Co-op and a 40 Cockshutt.....Pictures of them are in the Cockshutt forum..I was a busy guy...It took a total of 700 miles to get 6 tractors to and back from this show..

Thanks for the pics and the effort, Blaine! Looks like everyone had a great time!!

Whats the story on the X on the GVI? Was it marked for a scrapper or something??

Its just lucky for everyone else that the mighty Twin City got rained out! ha ha...

Howard

Howard, the GVI MM was the 3rd of 100 tractors that sold on a sale in late 2012 near Pomona,KS....It was advertised as being overhauled 20 years earlier and never used....It sold for $575 to a scrapper that ended up with 36 tractors at that sale..

I was waiting on a 40 Cockshutt that sold in the middle of the sale....It brought more than I could pay so I went and bought the GVI from the scrapper....Thats the story behind the X on it..

The Adrian,MO show is lots of fun...
