I have a MM Jet Star with the heavy duty industrial non adjustable wide front end. Serial number puts it at 1960.I was wondering how rare this tractor might be? MM's were not real common in my area and I havent seen only a couple other industrial MM tractors of any model. Thanks in advance for any replies.

Moline didn't make a Jet Star Industrial and didn't show an option for the heavy duty I beam front axle on a Jet Star. They did build quite a few Bill of Material tractors though and they would build them with just about what ever the customer wanted for equipment as long as they were ordering a quantity all the same. So it's possible someone ordered a batch of tractors with industrial front axles. Post your serial number and maybe I can shed some light on what you have.

From your name I assume you might be in New York? New York state Dept of Transportation had quite a fleet of Jet Star and Jet star 3 tractors in the 60s and into the 70s and most were auctioned off as surplus in the 80s-early 90s, if it is a state tractor it should be NY blue paint at the bottom if it has been repainted . I have an old state Jet Star and know where there is another that still has the side mount mower on it about 5 miles from here. I don't know how many the state owned but I do know there were Industrial Jet Stars made with the solid front axles.
