At Last The GVI MM Diesel Is Running Great

Thanks to all of you and to Glen Welters, the 1959 GVI MM diesel is running like it should..After having a starter motor issue, transfer pump issues, stuck governor,-etc it came down to the injectors..

Last week I ran the tractor for 2 hours with some ATF and Sea Foam in it....The popping just wouldn't go away..So Saturday I pulled the injectors..On Wednesday I took the GVI injectors plus my $100 junk yard G-1000 MM injectors to Welters....Glen ran the GVI injectors first and found 2 he couldn't properly test because they were cracked in the threads....They didn't leak on the tractor..The injector on #6 hole was stuck..So he ran the G-1000 injectors and they checked out OK..

Yesterday afternoon I put the G-1000 injectors in and the tractor now runs fine with no miss and no smoke..I can now pull the GVI MM at the Adrian,MO show on June 25th....MM is being featured this year..

I scanned the top half of the 2016 Welters MM calendar..I've known this family since 1970 and they are for sure some good people..Its seems strange to go down there and no longer have Ed to visit with..He loved his MM's and is missed..

I have looking around Vernon and Bates County for place to retire on. When get chance email me. Planing on being in the area mid July

Appears like someone had mucking with fuel system. We had M5's,Massey 97,95 and U diesels we farmed with and never touched an injector or pump. Just keep clean fuel and regular filter changes.

One thing that I forgot to mention was that I found no copper seal on #6 injector???? It wasn't in the bore either..I even pulled the valve cover looking for it..Also one injector had been way over tightened.....Two injector lines must have been over tightened to split the threads apart on the injector..

Not being run for 25 years sure didn't help matters any..I guess I got lucky spending as little as I did in getting it running..I'll keep fuel conditioner in it and start it several times a year..Thanks for your help..

If I hadn't been out bid on a 40 Cockshutt at this sale, the GVI would have been scrapped..You can see the scrappers spray paint on it..I'm going to leave it the way you see it..
