Red Nose UTS

Just wondering how many red nose U's are out there? Depending on who you talk to appears numbers are still fairly high. There was quite a few made but that was 75 years ago!

I can account for one 1939 and there was another in the neighborhood but it sold a couple years ago and I'm not sure how far it wentfrom here.

Heres a 1938 UTS MM that I used to own....I was pulling at Springfield,MO around 1986-87....Its serial # 310093....It now resides about 30 miles SW of me..In the early 1980's I made a list of known 1938 UTS MM's and had 20 of them on it...The oldest was #310045 at Quinter,KS..

Also pictured is my red grill 1940 UTU MM #314530..Red grill UTU's are few and far between..

I have the remains of a 1939 UTU MM that I bought in 1981 at Derby,KS..It has furnished a few parts for my 1940 UTU..Theres not many 1939 UTU's around...

Always wanted a UTU Red Nose. Any out there? I would put it on full steel so tires/rims not important. Prefer a 1939.

I own UTS 310302 out in Oregon and a neighbor has one in the 130 range if remember correctly.I know of 3 other ones 1 38 and 2 40s. 310300 was posted on the fourm here a couple years ago up in canada. There is a couple red utu's around.

I have Red Nose UTS serial number 300 nearly put back together. This picture was taken when I brought it home 4 years ago. Complete overhaul bored to 4 1/2 inches. Waiting for my gas tank to get done. I also have a 41 UTU serial 315194 that runs great and looks good too.

Guess I should thin out some red noses (someday). Beyond the 38, have 3- 39's one of which is a Waterloo on 32 inch rear steel. Also 2- 40's and 1 is on rear steel and a 41. Have full set of steel wheels for 36 or 38 centers. Will fit most U's. Have several sets of rear steel with extensions.
