Odd ZA radiator top

I just up a ZA with this radiator cap configuration on it. It does have a 10A part number cast on it. It must be a retrofit for a pressurized cooling system? Thought it was kind of interesting. I haven't seen one like it before.

That was an MM item. Im not sure if they were installed at the factory before the regular pressurized
cap tops were put on like the ZBs were or if they were fitted or installed later on, on the non pressurized (ZA) systems to
make them a pressurized system. Im guessing that is the case. I believe it was mid 1951 when they started the pressurized systems on the ZAs. I have a 1952 ZA that has the regular
pressurized system top like the ZBs. I dont remember seeing any factory pictures from literature with
them on like you pictured when the ZAs were new.

My guess it was an add on. I have a 1951 ZAS that came to me with the plate and bail cap. The problem is when going over rough ground it tends to ooze hot water from the plate. And that hot water damaged the paint.

When I redid the radiator I got a ZB tank with the pressure cap.
