Hello, we are restoring a 1952 GTB and need some help in identifying how the Steiner reproduction intake and exhaust manifolds interchange with the originals found on the model U's and GTB's. Our exhaust manifold is toast but the intake is pristine.
Here is some information first:
According to Steiner, reproduction exhaust manifold MMS001 replaces KE 821G on all the U series models, but will only work on the G series with the purchase of their new reproduction intake manifold (MMS013) which replaces KE 822A.
This I find hard to believe. I purchased one of the reproduction manifolds approximately 6 years ago and installed it on my KTA, which was equipped intake manifold KE 822A. (The same as found on the GTB we are working on). The manifold bolted right onto the KTA and there were no issues with how it mated to the intake that was originally on the tractor.
Is there a difference between the exhaust manifold found on the U and G series tractors (depth, width, ear position, etc?) or is this Steiner just trying to sell additional parts?
