I was going to plow with my U. I tripped the plow so it can go in the dirty, engaged the clutch, tractor went a foot and stopped moving but the tractor was running. I went in the bell housing to adjust the clutch from there. It made the hand lever push forward hard but it did not make no difference. I was wondering if the clutch has oil on it and it is why it slipped.

Does your tractor have a live clutch on the left side of the tractor? If it does, it may be slipping which will also cause the tractor to stop moving.

Live PTO clutch has long lever on left side. Very seldom main clutch will ever slip if setup properly. They were literally bulletproof!

I have seen those units that had had
some holes drilled through them and
roll pins driven in the holes to lock
them solid

I know my thoughts are usually in the minority of most of the folks on this sight but if it was mine I'd slip a set of new linings in and rebuild the unit, Ive got several of these and if you intend to ever use the tractor for any pto work, a lot of times it pretty handy option to have working, just my 2 cents worth
