G950 Milsco seat

Guys I'm working on a G950 right now. The shock for the seat suspension is bad. Agco shows nothing available for it, I haven't found anything on Milsco's website, or anything with the Stabilus number on it. Has anyone found anything close for a replacement? Thanks

At one time there was a replacement double shock being custom made by someone in MN. I put one on my G950 and
it worked good. I don't think he's making them anymore but I can check. I found an NOS stabilus shock but
haven't been able to find a replacement either.

I will have to call them on Monday. The website only shows the rubber torsion springs. I believe I found a place that can make them, but no sense in reinventing the wheel when it is not necessary.

Guys, I did some hunting and research, and found a place that was willing to make a custom lift support for the seat. The stroke is the same, the bore is slightly longer. I turned down the threaded end to a ball shape like the original. I put it in the other day. I weigh 220lbs. On the lowest setting, I bottom out the seat. On the highest setting, I barely move it. I believe this puts it pretty close to an original. The big question is, is there enough interest out there for me to have a run of them made? I think they would be around $100 each. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks.

I might consider one for my G950. $100 is a lot. I do know in manufacturing, getting someone to even listen to you anymore to get an antique part fabricated is a feat in its self. I make reproduction parts so I know how that goes lol. My only concern would be if the threaded end would wear any to come out or is it fairly snug? Any thoughts on making a small tube like the original for it to thread into? Glad you got something going with it as there are several tractors that need them. If these work on the later M670 seats there might be some market for them there as well. If I can suggest starting a new post to bring it to the top. Some of us still use "classic view" occasionally and don't always see the older posts. Thank you for taking the time to get something made up.

Alan, thanks for the tip on re posting so it shows up in classic. I will do that later. I have another prototype coming with higher pressure. It looks like my uncle will bottom out the current one. I made this slot fit pretty tight in the tube it goes in. The next one we will try making a threaded shaft as you suggested and see how that works. Thanks!
