jet star 3 steering / hydraulics

a pal of mine has a jetstar 3 ,,.the power steering is all over the place, and the hydraulics are not lifting, I think the rear pump is the problem ,or perhaps the filter is plugged...he said all this worked before he changed head gaskets ,,but it took 3 yrs to do that . I am thinking a valve is stuk someplace ,, any help is appreciated ..

First, the simple. Be sure that there is adequate hyd oil in the system. I've got several mollies and one thing in common is that they all leak hydraulic oil somewhere. Tell us what, if anything, that you've checked out so that we might zero in in the problem. If you know that there is adequate fluid in the system, next attempt to get rid of air in the system, jack the front end up removing resistance and steer all the way in each direction about 10 times. If those two things yield no results, let us know and we'll go from there.
