MM 445 Power steering hose

The power steering lines on y 445 utility have two hoses that go over the bell housing and join a steel line coming from the hydraulic pump and a steel line that goes in to the power steering pump at the front of the tractor. One of my hoses blew out right by the fitting so there is no way to splice it. The fittings on the hose are inverted flares and no one seems to have them to make me new hoses. The original part numbers, 10A8028 and 10A8029 are stamped on the current fittings so I assume they are original to the tractor. I have gone to several places that make up the hoses and they all have the male end but not the female end that I need for the hose. Has anyone else had these hoses replaced and where did you get them? I was told by one place that the fitting I needed was a 06-07FF. Someone else suggested running hoses all the way from one end to the other, but I am not sure that is practical.

On most all machines I replace the whole thing with host as long as I have the space. A pix or a weatherhead will give you a smaller od. That said I think from the numbers you gave us you need 06U B07 for a straight. 06U B67 for a 90 degree. Napa should be able to do it for you.

When I blew the one on my 335, the NAPA where I worked sold me a hose with the male 3/8 flare on each end and two brass adapters that had female flare on each end. The hose we came up with had 45 degree bends on each end to help get it over and around everything at the bell housing/instrument column. I wondered at the time if the brass adapters would be up to the pressure (650-750 psi) but its been on there for about 10 years now.

Thanks for the info! I tried one NAPA store and they had the male ends but didn't suggest the brass M-to-M fitting to go between.
I will try one in a larger town and see what I can come up with.

What I did no my 5 star was to cut the steel line off as close to the fitting as you can then clean the line of all paint and such and go compression fitting to rubber hose. They hold up just fine.

Thanks t.r.k. Went to NAPA gave them the part numbers. The brass fittings are actually brake line fittings. I am back in business.
