Thanks for your comments everyone.

The exhaust manifold was made from a new manifold for an Allis Chalmers 7030-7080. Of all the manifolds we looked at, this one required the least amount of work to modify it to fit the G1000. We simply has to add some spacers between the longers sections (cylinder #1-2, 3-4 and 5-6) and two shorter adapters between the shorter sections (cylinder #2-3 and 4-5). We also had to add to the mounting flanges to set the manifold out away from the engine so that the turbo would clear the thermostat housing. Because we didn't want to modify the hood, this manifold worked out well as it is offset from the center of the engine enough to allow for the elbow which connects to the exhaust pipe in the original location (center of the engine). THe only issue with the offset turbo placement is that it makes for not much room to plumb the turbo to the air filter housing but it wasn't too bad to sort out that issue.

If we could have found a stock turbo manifold we likely would have went that route but not only are they very very hard to find, they are also typically in very poor condition and worth much more than is considered reasonable. I am kind of shocked that no one has ever tried to remanufacture the stock turbo manifolds or any manifolds for this tractors.

The preheater is off of the White 2270/MM G1355 tractors which is the same as the ones on the White 2-135/2-155 tractors.

I've got one of those very very hard to find manifolds on a non-running Vista I bought...I wonder how many kits were made. There seems to be very little info out there on them. Even literature is hard to come by.

I agree, pretty much anything to do with the turbo setups is difficult to come by. Based on my understanding there weren't many kits made.

Does your Vista have a valve cover breather on all three covers or just the front two? I can't make out from the photo if a third one is in place or not. Did it come this way to you or did you install the extra breathers? Based on my understanding all Vista's only came with one breather on the front valve cover but I have noticed some turbocharged ones have breathers on all three.

It has breathers on all 3 valve covers. I wish I had better pictures but that is really all I have right now of it. Visually, the kit looks like it is in really good shape but I haven't had anything apart on it yet. The engine is actually a 451 and not a 504, and if I had to guess I would be willing to bet something must have happened to the original engine and they replaced it with the 451 and they added the turbo to make up the horsepower difference.

Bottom ends are the same between 504 and 451. May have spun a bearing and a 451 replacement was installed. Are the cylinder blocks 504 or 451 part numbers?

I think that they are the 4 3/8" 451 blocks. I don't remember what part number off of the top of my head, but I do know they were not the same as the part number on my 670 or other G1000 diesel. The heads would be another good indicator but there is so much grease and grime on the top of those heads that I would have to clean them up for those numbers.

Altitude compensator on A4T1400 was turbo setup on the D504A in 1969. There must have been a few kits available. Not all A4T1400's had turbo. Also note inj pump was different as well as cam. Hp went from 139 to 150.
