Heres before and after pictures of a friends UTU MM....It came from about 20 miles north of me...The motor was in decent shape so only got rings and a valve job..I took this picture yesterday in his huge shed filled with over 100 restored tractors..

My friend wasn't a MM man but in late 2012 I talked him in to getting a ZB which he restored....Now he has the U,UB,GB,and two R's..He had to admit that they look pretty nice..

What a huge improvement. I just got my 1951 U running after sitting for who knows how many years. It has 4-3/8" M&W pistons and 4210 heads. Sounds real nice with a repro MM muffler. I wish the decal suppliers would include a decal placement guide for the various years of MM tractors. I've seen many nicely restored Molines with the decals just randomly slapped on here and there. Seems to be a bigger issue with the MM's. Most of the red and green tractors you see at the shows have the correct decals and placement.

Heath, At one time, the Mohrs in Vail, IA published a decal placement guide. Think it's on the MM Collectors site.

That looks like a real nice job "prettying up" that tractor. I did the same thing to our '47 UTU several years ago, but it looks kinda tired again now, the darned prarie gold paint I bought was not very good I guess...and I think maybe I didn't put on enough coats either. That color was a new one for me, even though I've painted quite a few John Deere yellow wheels. Where really is a good source of the paint for Minneapolis's of the 40's era?
