2-150 engine

I posted on the Oliver Forum about acquiring parts and advice about the possibility of an in frame overhaul of the 585 engine. Advised to post on this site. I'm finding parts are extremely expensive. Any ideas or advice welcome. Thank you, Gary

Gary,
Anything D585 is getting expensive. Most parts can only be obtained from AGCO. I've got one out of an A4T torn down in the shop now going on 4 years. I've already got thousands invested in it and its still in pieces. Bought a stuck 2-150 motor but it's a one-piece rear crank seal whereas the A4T is 2 piece. I could save a few of the 2-150 parts but all the pistons/cylinders were shot. Picked up a G1350 motor on a trade deal. May freshen it up and drop it in the A4T. Depends on how it looks when I start to tear it down. If you don't have an AGCO dealer nearby Welters in Verona MO are good people to deal with. I get all my AGCO parts from them.

I rebuild my 2-150 a few years ago and I got all the parts from welters. They know there molines.I checked around on price and they were good on there prices.

D585 engines were always expensive to work on. We bought our 1355 new in 1974. Oil pumps could have been better in them. Your 2-150 should have the external oil pump on it. Make sure you give the maximum skirt clearance on the pistons. As I recall the service bulletin called for .0012-.0015
