So I tripped across this 570 and I know they're rare, but I have no idea as to what they are worth.
Any insight into what a resale value may be would be greatly appreciated as I would like to know if it's worth my time trying to buy it off the old farmer to resell.

Not sure what to tell you except try to not let it go to scrap. I believe I saw one years ago when I was in high school and didn't think about getting ahold of it as I didn't have the money but always wished I would have. If he isn't asking much I don't think you would go wrong on it.

Just from auction results ive seen if you drop il off in
central il it'll bring 4500 pretty easy. For some reason
that seems to be the base line for any cabless good
condition combine. About six months ago an ih of
similar vintage up the road from me brought $6500
and it was stuck.

Only problem is this thing is in central Manitoba and there isn't the market for them up here. So I imagine transport costs would be extensive to get it where it belongs

I would check into that if I were you. I know a guy that makes about ten trips a year up there to buy tractors and hauls them back here.

20 years ago I let one of those get junked about 30 miles NE of me. I regret not stopping in and trying to buy it. Drove past that place many times and always said "When I have more time, I'll stop in" Then one day it and several other pieces on that farm were cut into easy to load chunks.

That is a rare machine and should be saved. I didn't realize just how rare years ago.

Ed,I know the feeling.....For about 40 years a nice original 123 McCormick SP combine sit in a shed 3 miles
east of me...The owners Dad bought it new in the Texas Panhandle and it was hauled up here in the mid- late
1960's...He never used it...The owner passed away and his widow would have given it to me..

Around 2006 I decided I wanted it and when I went over there the shed was empty.....I had to rub my eyes as
it had been there forever....The widow whom had moved to town didn't know what happened to it....Her
grandson didn't know....The renters living in the house didn't know....The neighbor that farmed the ground
didn't know.....It was just gone...I did finally end up with their 1940's model 70 Oliver tractor that was hauled
up here from Texas..
