Tele-flo remote lever springs.

On my Jetstar 3, like it normally happens one of the neutral centering springs are broke on a remote control lover.

Does anyone have any tips or tricks to replace this spring? I do not want to install the external clamp on spring. It appears that maybe they could be replaced without removing much but it looks like a quick way to ruin the new spring.

Joe, not an "easy" way. seat's off, maybe fender/battery box off. Slide the levers/shafts out as necessary, replace O-rings, springs and religion as needed, Dale.

Oh Yeah, only replace the broken one so you can stay in practice because the next one will break very, very soon, more religion required, Dale

Dale, see I have this brilliant idea that I could twist the spring and kind of thread it around the levers and into place. I suppose if this was easy everyone would do it this way. I'm not crazy about removing the levers because it is a quick way to get it out of adjustment I'm sure.

JK2 posted instructions to do that once. Kinda 'spin' the springs on there.

Delbert Schaffer used to sell a plate with spring steel fingers that you could mount externally to center those levers and not have to take everything apart.

I believe I have a paper copy from Delbert of those spring assemblies that he used to have. If I find it I can post a picture of it. I have one of those style originals on my M670 Super. From what Delbert had told me, IF I remember correctly, they were originally made by the 3rd Arm Company for MM.

Joe, very interesting idea, we've serviced many, many tractors in that area, and always are open to new ideas. Video w/sound would be great. A side note on servicing anything w/springs, many times I've ended up with finger nails not so much flesh colored but have bluish/purple hue to one or more, also those blood blisters can arise from the simplest pinch and when pricked with Miss Suzies' sewing needle I have peculiar red spots show up on my glasses, also usually may have to Pee just a little, Good Luck

I agree with Dale. When a customer asks me for 'one' #10A9219 lever spring; I try to talk them into all the springs and "O" rings. Those that do not listen almost always call back and order the rest of the parts. I figure those that do not call back probably call somewhere else for the rest of the parts.

Experience is a good teacher.... painful too.
