What is the best way to pull the cylinders off the crank case? The engine is seized. And yes I did remove the bolts on both sides after picture. That is ATF fluid not water.

Remove the side cover on the crankcase and unbolt the rods. If everything is lined up correct it is an easy job, if not can be almost imposable.

As R Akin says it can be impossible to get the blocks off . I have had to torch off a few rods when nothing else worked. I was not happy , but you gotta do what you have to! That was yrs ago when rods were easy to find. clint

Its an easy job. Might help if you were to place the head back on. Take the jug base bolts off. Take side panel off and remove rod caps. if they are hard to get to no worry this is where a cherry picker comes in. attach the cherry picker to the manifold bolts and lift the jugs until the rod bolts are rotated to a better position. remove rod caps and lift both blocks off.

I was always able to get the rod caps off somehow. But a couple times it took a well-bent wrench to do it.

If you are trying to save the pistons, you may be able to lap the valves, put the head back on, and squirt grease through the sparkplug hole to force the pistons out of the block. #3 will probably be the worst as it usually gets the rainwater first.
