Moline Plow

I found a Minneapolis Moline Plow today, I would like to know what model it is. I know it is 3 16's and it is a Trip Plow not hydraulic.

That is a model AF plow. They were the 2-3 bottoms, the model DF was the 3-4 bottoms and the FFs were the 4-5 bottoms. Nice find.

It's a model AF. The best pull type plow of it's day (in my opinion). When I was growing up we used both a 2-14 rope trip and a 3-14 hydraulic lift. They would really do a nice even job of plowing and had pretty good trash clearance. I am always amazed how the MM-Acme Steel logo lasts on the back of the moldboards on a 60+ year old plow!

I am looking at the documentation for the AF DF and FF Plows, I am curious why it is called a 2-3 Plow, what does the numbering system mean?

Thanks!

It can be used as a 3 bottom or you can remove the 3rd bottom and make it into a 2 bottom. The last bottom, the "I" beam on the top and the steel bar across the middle of the plow are removed, then you bolt the rear wheel to the second bottom with the longer landslide.

After bringing the plow home this past weekend, Was there a serial number on these? Where would it be if there was one.
