New from SW MN

Just wanted to say that I'm new here and this looks like a pretty good forum! I have quite a few Molines and some other brands too. Nothing better than working on old tractors

Welcome: very nice collection What got you into minnies, how long you been working on them? For me they were different and a little scarce in my area and I just liked them.

Thank you! Same reason. I like that they are fairly scarce tractors. I love the prairie gold. I've been tinkering on them since I was about 15, luckily I've gained some knowledge since then. The majority of the collection I inherited from my grandpa when he passed away in 2008. I've added about 5 more since then. Most of them hadn't been running for 6 years before that. I have most of them running now except for a couple. When it's warm here I usually try to get a couple different ones out every weekend just to keep them going. I love working on them though.

I'd love to hear your guys stories too

Awesome pictures. I believe I know where you live from the M5 in the picture. Are you across the road from D&G? Im about 25 or so Miles south of you at Ruthton. Would love to see your collection sometime. I have a few MMs as well.

You called it haha. My grandpa started D&G in 1979. I'd be more than happy to show you! What do you have for Molines? Did you happen to go to that big MM auction by Hadley a couple weekends ago?

For me I remember them working years ago. They faded out for the most part then tractor shows/collecting got going and some interest was brought back. I still use mine some have a few other Moline items and literature. Took awhile for off brands to catch on I can remember it was Deere and Farmall. As for Case, MM, etc it was some ears later before people started restoring them baring aside if the was an area where they sold well and had a following.

I might have talked to him several years ago about one of them. Have a couple of M5s, 950, M670 Super, 2 ZAs and a few others. Yes I did go to the auction. Went to Vo-Tech the same time Brian did. Did you buy the Jet Star? Not a lot of options on that one. You can email me your phone number if you like. My email is moline at woodstocktel dot net.

What kind of Molines do you have?

Sounds like a nice sized collection! Did you pick up anything at the auction? Yes I bought the jet star but I've been wanting to get one for a while, not sure why, but I did getting running pretty nicely the same day I brought it home. I wish I would've bought that G4 combine for my UTS but I would've felt bad leaving it sit outside since I don't have much room inside. I also bought that RE151 that was laying outside hoping I can get some usable parts for my ZTU, and that vintage Matco toolbox which happened to have a MM pressure testing gauge set in it.

I will send you an email.

Welcome! Curious about the Jetstar 3 in the pic behind your new Jetstar. Looks like an M5 hood on it? Nice
looking collection. I only inherited 2 of my Grandpa's MM's. Looks like you are off to a good start.

That was the Jet Star 3 at the sale in Hadley MN. Had a Jet Star 3 hood on it. Brian had emailed me a while back and asked if I had any literature pictures of the earlier Jet Star 3s with or without the white band on them. I think the first ones didn't come with them but were added later in the year or following year.

No I didn't buy anything there. Bid on a couple of items though. We used to have several G4 combines around this area but most are all gone by now. I noticed the MM tester kit in that toolbox lol.

Welcome to YT MM forum. Must be the hydraulic pressure check set. In grey tin box. Has a 10P part number. Old MM dealer told me to watch for inaccuracy of gauges.

I just bought an early Jetstar 3, s/n 28300519, and it has the black stripe at the top, about 4" from the top of the hood. It goes around the front as well. Do you know, does the grill screen go right from the black stripe to the bottom? Mine is not all the way but maybe part is missing or its the wrong one. Does anyone make new grill screens for these?

Yes I believe they are that way, from the black stripe down on the early models. I think Clint Stamm in Kansas makes reproduction grilles. I don't have his number handy but could find it.

That's quite an assortment of Molines you have. I've got half a dozen of them myself, in various states of repair.
What's the story on that old GMC truck? Looks like maybe it used to be a fire truck?

Very nice colllection of MM tractors, I have a 705 back here in Scotland. Im interested in thos large front wheels/tyres you have on the G1000, what size are they and what did they come off?
Thanks
Bill

Thank you! I'm not sure what they came off of since they were on the tractor when I got it. But they are Titan Tractor Front F-3 and they are 11.00 - 16SL.

Thank you! Mine are in various states too. It's a 1953 GMC fire truck that someone put a flat bed on. It's kind of a shame because it only has 6100 original miles but it's locked up tight. I had it sit for a few months with PB blaster in the cylinders, drug it around the yard with the UTS and it still wouldn't turn over. I'm not sure what I want to do with it

One of the gauges is stuck at 100 psi so I'm assuming that one is no good. I actually have a very old torch manifold set that has a MM hydraulic pressure gauge on it
