Hello, I have no idea how my hydraulic system work. I tried pull and pushing the 3 control levers but nothing move. I would like to fix it but don't know where to start. I know I have the hydraulic cylinder under my seat. Is there a pump involve in moving the hydraulic piston?

First get a manual that will help some. The jest star and other star series is similar. Check to see that it has fluid, the filter is not plugged.

Your problem could be something very simple. First, find an operator's manual. Is there enough oil in the system? There is a filter that could be plugged. Is the pump turning? Do not start taking the valves apart, they are complicated. Using the levers right?

Does your power steering work or at least work a little? If it is then the pump is turning. It might be the coupler that runs the pump is bad if it isnt. They did have a lot of trouble in that area. I agree, don't take the valves apart or you may have more of a problem than you do now.

yes it uses controller levers. How does the hydraulic cylinder get it's oil? Does it come from the back pump right above the pto?

What is serial number? Looks to me like an industrial. It has an extra pump there belt pulley would normally mount.

It is a 1957 industrial with an extra pump on the back left that is used for the front loader.

Rear pump fed internally. Output also internal to valve setup for 3 point. Copper line feeds power steering. Pump on left side is for loader or a backhoe. Totally separate hydraulic systems.

It does/did have power steering. The copper line coming out of the pump is the supply to the power steering valve and the copper line gong back into the reservoir near the cylinder is the return. Do you have the power steering valve near where the steering shaft goes into the front bolster?

Is this the steering valve? Does this valve turns the wheels or is there another device and where is located?

That is your power steering. Since you didn't think you had any I'd assume yours is not working. Be sure there's
fluid in the reservoir. May also point to issues with your pump or pump drive.
