Asking this for a friend, would anyone know the transmission oil capacity, and the type of recommended lubricant
I believe the hydraulic system holds 10 quarts, would an oil like HY-TRAN or JD HY-guard be appropriate for use in it?

I think the transmission and AT use a shared 10 gallons. There are level plugs for both compartments. If it's only going to see lite use then Hy-tran or hy-guard would be fine. Use 80w-90 if it's going to be worked hard.

As to the hyd system I'd suggest using Dextron 3 (ATF). If cross contamination is a concern you can use hytran but that's not the first choice.
