Picky about Decals

I am about ready to put Decals on the M-602 after a long process and notice the new hood decals I bought have "M"s that are straight up-down sides and the original had the slanted side "M" like on all the litature and on manuals. The panels on the side of the radiator are correct style on "M".

Has anyone else ran into this and what do you have? Would there be someplace that sells the correct hood decals for my M602? I wonder if different years is what makes the difference? The early 1964 U-302 we have also has "M"s with the slanted sides.

I am not thrilled about buying extra decals and in pictures and at shows it would be hardly noticable but for a few dollars maybe I could get it right. I would not be interested in old-New stock since they say Decals don't keep long. Just trying to keep it the way it was when my Dad bought it? Cleddy

Im thinking the manufacturers probably figured they were only used for a couple of years and weren't enough of a market to make them different than the later ones since they were already set up for those. I know the decals you are speaking of. Someone on here might have an idea where to get them.

I'm not sure what year your 602 is, but only the earlier production had the slanted M, that's why they show up in the literature and advertising pics that way. I think Maple-Hunter makes both versions. Try to contact them. Maybe they could sell you just the specific decal you need. Phone #:812-894-9759.

I had R-M Distributors make this set of decals for a 604 I restored last winter. I think this is the style you are talking about.

I took a couple pictures to point out the difference. That must be the difference since we have early 1964 tractors. I will give them a call and see what is available. I can always use the extra set on the working tractor and it still looks better.

Yeah that looks great!!!! And look at all that snow? I would love to take that through some big good clean snow drifts. I'll bet it would take a real big one to stop it. cleddy

No that isn't very far from me lol. I was at the Worthington show but didn't get to stop at Mike's.

That's where you would have seen it. It was in the shop on display. How far are you from Mike's? I'm going to be there Thanksgiving weekend.
