I just bought this 2 row 3 point planter to restore, and use planting sweet corn. Does anyone know what model it is? It's also missing a few parts so if anyone has any please let me know.

I think I have some literature on them under 3 point implements. Will have to take a look. Made mid to late 1950s as they were used on the 335 and 445s. PWZs I believe were the earlier mounted ones and PQ the later pull type units.

That is the later version of the MP models. I think Alan might be right as to the specific model. What parts do you need?

I don't have the planter yet, but from what I understand the tubes the fertilizer drops through and whatever goes at the bottom of the tubes. Also
the marker arms.

Im betting the usable parts would be common parts with the other planters knowing how MM liked to use what they had. Nice find. I will see if I can find a literature picture for you.

Where are you located, I have 4 or 5 planters like that for parts, have a complete working one for $300. Don't care to ship things like the markers, etc, too big.Antioch, IL 847 three o nine 7three four 7

I'm in Ohio. I will check it out when it gets here, and call you to see if you have what I need. Thanks! Do you know the exact model? I would like to try to find a manual.

Found the literature and model of the planter. As MMDEL said MP model, being it is a 2 row it is an MP-200. The 4 rows were MP-400s.

Alan glad you found the literature. Because this had a 3 Pt hitch I wasn't sure it was still called an "MP" After the horse planters the first tractor planters were semi mounted, being pulled with a tongue which extended under the tractor to a hitch plate mounted on the belly of the tractor at the point where it is split to replace the clutch. It was lifted up and down with links to the cultivator lifting roll. In the center of the planter was a rudder which cut through the soil to keep it in a straight line so the pull of the check wire on the end of the planter would not pull it off center. MP stood for "Mounted Planter". and as you said 200 for 2 Row and 400 for 4 Row.

I found the operation manual online and down loaded it. I haven't seen the planter in person yet, but hope to get it home tomorrow.
