Anyone knows the function of theses two levers? One is attached to the front next to the shifter and the other is attached to the back next to the pump.

(quoted from post at 10:09:59 10/15/15) Never been around that model but guessing top one is your ampli-torque and bottom picture is PTO.

What does the ampli-torque do? Does it increase the torque to the rear wheels. When ampli-torque is engaged does it loose power somewhere else like the hydraulic system?

The a/t is basically high and low. Forward is high, back is low. One work of caution...in low it will free wheel down hills. If the low side is out or
slipping you can tell that when the lever is pulled back. The other lever is for your PTO engagement.

Not to highjack this post , but does an M5 also free wheel in low range going down hills ? Never really tried my M5 and it sounds scary . I 'VE drove roads in high range only.

Thanks --Larry --ont.

Yes an M5 will free wheel when the torque is pulled back, all molines will, just like the older IH tractors UNLESS it has the 3 speed torque/over-under.

A friend had a 602 he bailed with. He had never had an MM before and told me how he needed to clean his shorts out one day. Said he was bailing with an almost full wagon and started down a hill in low...his brakes were not the best and he narrowly missed putting the whole rig in a creek at the bottom of the hill. Make sure I warn all new MM owners about how the a/t works, and I'm no expert.
