Moline G1355 / White 2-150 Hyd drive

I have a problem with my White 2-150 which is a Moline G1355.
I was using a large disc bine when I lost all the hydraulics and PTO instantly so I suspected the pump drive shaft had moved again or sheared. Is this a common problem with these tractors?
Also had this happen about 40 hrs ago, that time when a dealer fixed it, he simply replaced a broken snap rear that had allow the shaft to move to the rear.

This time the snap rings where still in place, two thin ones. I removed them. I threaded in a bolt and pulled out the 4 inch "spacer". I threaded a bolt into the shaft and that pulled rear wards until about 4 inches was sticking out and then it stops solid, I don't understand why.

Any suggestions what may have happened?

I think your splines are stripped on your shaft. To get that shaft out you need to line up the splines. In order to do this put an air impact on the end of the shaft and use it to turn the shaft enough to line up the splines and it should slide right out.

Why an air impact wrench? I can turn it by hand, it stops when it is about 4 inches out. It rotates with the PTO shaft. Behind the snap ring there is a roller bearing, is that normal? I don,t remember seeing that when i looked 2 years ago.

I will try and post some photos. I presume the O-ring is at the rear of the roller bearing which is where the snap ring is. I don’t understand what purpose the bearing serves?

Yep an impact wrench works! I used a short bolt In end of shaft so it would bottom out, as you run the wrench pull on shaft.Did this on my 1850
this summer to get shaft out. Works good.
I think it shakes the gears to line up.

Thanks for all the advice,I now have the shaft out. The splines at the flywheel end are not good. Any suggestions where I may find a good one? Thanks.

I'll bet that the splines on the female end at the flywheel are in no better shape than the ones on the shaft. Better fix it right and split the tractor and replace the flywheel end too.
Had a neighbor years ago that run a tubgrinder with his Olivier. I told him they weren't made heavy enough for that treatment. It took a couple of months for him to twist off that shaft.

I am sure you are correct. I am concerned what the flywheel end is like, I can only hope it is harder than the shaft. I have found a new after market shaft for $250 I will give that a trial, a lot cheaper than splitting the tractor and the old girl only has to do approx. 20 hours of hard work a year.

Thanks for all the advice.
