G1000 Vista charging ssues

My Vista is showing a charge rate of 50-60 amps at full throttle. Would this be the voltage regulator causing this? Also have been burning up point sets. Is this caused by the high amperage?

Must be the voltage regulator.

Put a volt meter across the positive & negative terminals on the battery. I would think at wot it would show around 13.5vdc with a good battery. If it is running @ 14.7vdc or higher then the regulator is not backing off. I would be surprised if that is your point problem.
