Hi everyone. I am restoring a 1944 RTU in colorado
and was just wondering if anyone had 1 or 2 rear
rims laying around within 300 miles? Or if anyone
knows a good place I can get them where I wont get
ripped off? Please let me know thanks.

You may have some luck trying a rim for a B JD. I think they used the same ones. The earlier A JDs were the same as the ZA-ZB rims. If you look on your rim about 12 to 14" to the left of the valve stem, on the center "dished" part you might find a JD part number. The ZAs had JD1260R if I remember correctly.

Alan is correct, if you need a 38" rim. What size was on this '44 R, as the early ones used 36" diameter wheels?

36" or 38" doesn't matter for practical purposes. If you want it exactly original that's another matter but 36" tires are just about impossible to find unless you buy new. I never do but I'm cheap. A 38" wheel with a dish center will bolt on a 36" center without a problem. A. 38" with a deep drop center will fit a center for a 34" wheel. Unless they are spokes wheels are wheels inside measurement width outside measurement and the attachment type. Spin out wedge ect. Open center 38" x 10" are about $120 brand new. Not worth a lot of searching if they will serve your purposes.

I have a 12.4X36 tire that is for all practical purposes brand new that I would sell very reasonable.
