Is there a good muffler for a UTU?

I want to find a good muffer for my UTU. One that will actually muffle the sound. (Go figure).. I have a stanley muffler on one tractor and it barely makes a difference. I had a rusted out original originally and it was nice and quiet.

About 8 years ago I bought a muffler through Napa, we had a Napa Muffler catalog and looked up the part #. (22037) It was pretty good, with baffles in the muffler. Ordered another muffler last year, (Same part #), opened the box and it was a stanley muffer with no baffles. Full flow worthless type. Needless to say I sent it back.

Read in the archives here that somebody suggested buying a muffler from John Deere that fits a 4020. Anybody have experience with those? or does Deere sell stanley as well.

I don't need a stainless steel parade worthy muffler, or a hand made original looking bullet style muffler - Unless those options are not too expensive. Just looking for a Muffler that will Muffle the sound and fit my UTU. Any sugestions?
 
Do a search for Little Repair shop, Walnut, KS. I have one of Pete's original style mufflers on my UB and it sounds just like I remember Dad's old U.

Made just like the original muffler. Bought several from him over the years.
 
I believe he gets around $160-180 for the steel ones and about $240 for the stainless ones. This is just to the best of my recollection. It has been a while since I have checked.
 
If you want good quality oats, you must pay the price. If you don't mind those that have been through the horse, well, they're cheaper. :)
 
This is one of Pete's mufflers on my UB. I have no problem with height or clearance around the hood.

If your U Or UB has been converted over to a M5 manifold then Pete's mufflers won't fit. The M5 manifold is a smaller diameter than the U and G manifold. But you can bush it up.
