Twin UB seen in MM Corresponder question

Hi All,
In the latest issue of the MM Corresponder (Page 7), there is a picture of a 'Twin UB' (owner Isaac Martin, lower right on page).

Does anyone here know more about this tractor? I am intrigued because the tractors seem to be mounted quite close together.

Obviously, the left engine/transmission (when sitting on the tractor), doesn't have a pulley mounted on it. Is the pulley pictured only driven by the right engine?

How was the rear-end tied together? Did the axles between the tractors get connected in some fashion?
Is there any provision connecting the clutches/throttles/brakes/gear shifters?

I find it fascinating the ingenuity exhibited by farmers (who probably had deep pockets at the time).

I am pretty sure Isaac put those tractors together like that. I think I saw him pull it at either Plain City or McConnelsburg back in the '90s.

I think he also has a 1/2 scale A4T and a 1/4scale A4T. along with some other unique models, such as the MM lawnmower with tracks also in the Corresponder.

I've seen Farmall A's and B's done up like that, but never UB's. It would be cool if the Corresponder or Antique Power would do an article on that tractor.

I see Redgem's UTN was also in that issue.

Isaac does have very nice M.M. tractors. Very nice person and does fantastic work. I've been to his shop several times, just wish it wasn't so far away !!! Someday I hope to have time enough to do creative things and do as nice of a job as Isaac. Just a fantastic man!!

Hello,

I found this 2002 article with a bit more information:

I'd still like to know more specifics on how the differentials are tied together...
