Custom built steering cylinder for a G1350

I had a cylinder built at a local hydraulic shop as a spare for our fleet of MM's. We have 5 tractors with these cylinders and am wondering if $350 was too much to pay for a new steering cylinder! If I bought more than one it would have been cheaper! The cylinder is NLA!

I guess it depends.....$ 350 is alot for a 1.5" x 6 or so cylinder but can you make it for that? There is probably a cheaper option somewhere else but if one of my cylinders broke or blew right before a rain and I had corn to plant I'd probably jump on one for that much. I'm sure we have all paid more for less in a pinch.

About 8 years ago, my then boss sent me to a shop with a steering cylinder from an industrial Ford. They wanted $200 then to just make a new piston rod and re-pack the existing cylinder.

If they totally built a new cylinder for $350 it sounds like a deal.

The greasable ends make it more expensive!
Actually the size did not matter that much! It how
much labor it takes to build one! I will post pictures
when I get time.

If you have 5 tractors that could potentially need/use it, I would say it was money well spent. Farming can get expensive in a hurry.
