UTS orchard?

I bought a 1949 UTS, was going to build into a puller. Was also thinking of finishing restoring instead. It has orchard like manifold and hood/air cleaner. My question is this something Moline did from the factory or did someone modify? If Moline did build UTS orchard model how many and how exactly rare is this tractor?
Thank you

Moline did not build a UTS orchard tractor. I would be curious to see pictures of what you have. The tractor serial # would be on the right side of transmission case. Twin City built a JT orchard in the 30's, and Moline built orchard versions of the Jet Star and Jet star 3 in the 60's.

I am aware that a dealer in Florida converted some ZAS tractors into orchard tractors.
I have one. So it wouldn't be unheard of for there to be UTS conversions also.
I think someone in the Praire Gold Rush called them 'Boozer conversions'.

It would be great to see a picture. Please?

A picture might explain a lot. You could have a UTI industrial which would explain the down exhaust. The UDLX and the OPEN also used the down exhaust. Military U also had a down exhaust.

An orchard tractor whether factory or conversion would be worth a restoration. So is it true that there were no factory built orchard tractors built during the 40s with the letter tractors R, Z, U or G? A picture would be great.

The only parts that are orchard like are the manifold and holes in hood that has cover/patch over them. The rest is UTS. The serial # is 0124903??9, the manifold part # is- KE822F. I am trying to get pics to upload!

Looks like a stock U hood with the exhaust hole covered. The underslug exhaust system was an option on the UTI (Industrial U). Many of the Industrial U's were loader tractors. I had one like it at one time. It is a rarer option. Someone may want the exhaust manifold if you remove it to make a puller out of your UTS. Hope this helps.

I'm the previous owner and this tractor came from a town known for its apple orchards (New Paltz NY) (also known for its rock climbing). I think the tractor was probably ordered this way for use in those orchards.

Patch over exhaust hole is factory and bump over aircleaner is factory. Also low seat.
