Thanks for the pictures. Always like to see M-Ms. Got more? Back in north central Illinois where I grew up we had a neighbor that farmed across the road from us that bought a NEW M-M UB Special Gas and also a New M-M mounted picker just like the one on the M-M Z in the second picture. His UB was his main tractor he used for nearly everything, plowing, tillage, and harvest. After picking corn he would take the picker off the tractor and store it in the center of his corn crib until the following year. He was an older guy that worked alone and once stated it took him nearly a whole day to mount that picker each time he needed it. But if I remember right it did a good job and he was happy with it.

Nice to see the MM mounted picker. Saw one sell around here a couple years ago in almost that good of condition for scrap. Also noted that it's mounted on a ZA. Dad told me that he saw one break an axle on a ZA as they are an extremely heavy picker with a lot of weight on the back. I think they would work better on U or UB.

Never saw a mounted picker with open elevators over the back axle. I suppose there are covers usually over them.

We took a ride there too. Very enjoyable show.

Wish I would have planned ahead and displayed at the show. Have a couple in the garage that would have made a nice addition to the bunch. Only been off crutches a week and didn't know if I could handle hauling them.

Hi 53zbu, i assume you have a 53 ZBU. Do you happen to know the history of your tractor. I'm looking for my great grandfathers he bought new in 53 from the Hadley area near the show. Always hopeful it might pop up, not many made. Any info or help would be appreciated. You can pm me if ya have any. Thanks

On the ZA with the corn picker, I noticed the vent covers over the engine and the bracket for the head lights over the hood. Are both of these Factory?
Always nice to see a bunch of MM's on display. Thanks to the post.

I believe they probably came with the cornpicker package. I have a couple of grille covers for ZA-ZBs and a pair of the light brackets. There was also a muffler cover for the U-UB models.

This is to answer gtractorfan's question on the M-M mounted Picker and some further info. on it. I have an original colored sales brochure for the M-M Mounted Picker and most of the pictures show it mounted on a UB, but there are a couple with it on a ZB. Anyway, there were no covers on the elevators over the tractor’s axles, they were open just like the ones in the picture. To explain a little more, those elevators just transferred the corn from the snapping rolls to the cross mounted husking bed mounted behind the driver’s seat. The left (as setting in driver’s seat) corn was then transferred to the right side and joined the corn from the right and dropped onto the cross mounted 10 roller husking bed where it was transferred to the left side and into the wagon elevator. As can be seen in the picture the wagon elevator is off to the left of the picker. The wagon was pulled behind the picker near the center but there was a deflector at the top of the elevator that shot the corn to the right to the center of the wagon. I hope that is all understandable. John in AZ

Really nice...Wonder why I don't see many G705s..diesel..

Weren't the cabbed ones geared to run road gear a little faster?
