m602 diesel value

I have a chance at a 602 diesel with a turbo on it. paint is horrible sheet metal itself is good runs good I'm told{I will verify this} The tires are matching and functional but weathered badly. They don't scare me but have no real value. The bearings that hold the drive shaft for the hydraulic pump at the rear end of the tractor are out of it. I'm thinking of fixing and reselling. what's it worth as is and what's it worth in good working order? I don't paint so it would look the same just be ready to go to the field. I'm in central IL.

Bearing in mind that you are soliciting opinions, my response would be "not much". There's nothing particularly exciting about a 602. They are not rare so collector value is out. They are not handy so utility is out. There's not any feature that a 602 that's fascinating. If you were to buy new tires for the rear of that tractor, you will have spent more money than the tractor is worth.

I like 602's. Having said that, I usually buy them for just over scrap, fix the worst things then use them. If the bearing are out on the hydraulic pump, it probably also broke part of the pump. (plan on about $300 to get it rebuilt)

If it was close to central Iowa, I would be mildly interested.

Agreed. M5's and M602's are not my favorite tractors. A 670 super is twice the tractor. They have better hydraulics, steering and are nicer to look at too.

They are a little more handy with a narrow front. Wide fronts are good but slower response when turning.
