adjust hand clutch gb m&m

haven't tried to start my most resent project a gb wheatland. in checking it out , the hand clutch has no resistance at all. would appreciate some helpful comments on this. understand the adjustments on the john deere hand clutch , but not this. thanks

All G models are standard wheatland models. Just open the hand hole. Rotate until release pin is seen. Pull pin out and spin collar clockwise. If clutch doesn't tighten up it is time to split. Adjust a bit at a time until there is a good snap on clutch lever.. If not the over center clutch is gone. They are a good clutch made by twin disc company which was used back to 1922 in the Twin City models and used up to G705.6.7.8 in 1960's. Never give trouble usless they were abused or not set properly.

Usually I use a small pair of Vice Grips to hold pin out so it doesn't catch detents.

The twin disc clutch company is still in buisness. I replaced a couple of them on the county highway departments pug mill two years ago. Yes its an old timer for being in commercial service. But anyway I got the parts directly from twin disc. Much more affordable than most other places that sell their products.
